"The Lord Is My Shepherd"
Psalm 23- David writes "I shall not want" as a declaration about who his shepherd is, not a description of his circumstances. What would it look like for you to receive that as a present reality rather than a future hope?
- The psalm shifts from talking about God to talking to God at exactly the moment the valley arrives. Where in your life right now do you need to make that same shift — from describing God to speaking directly to him?
- Philip Keller notes that a sheep lying down is a sheep whose every anxiety has been addressed by the shepherd's care. What specific anxiety do you need to bring to the shepherd this week?
- Radaph — the word translated "follow" in verse 6 — is the word for relentless pursuit. How does knowing that God's goodness and covenant love are actively pursuing you change the way you see the season you are currently in?
